Minimum Wage Increase: Pros And Cons
Thesis Statement: Minimum Wage is good in some ways but it affects our economy more and if it increases unemployment rates will raise also.
In many ways minimum wage is a good thing. It helps teenagers who are able to work to make money while in high school and be responsible with not a lot of money. It also affects the economy in many ways also. When minimum wage increases, other things increase such as milk, gas, etc. So as you can see minimum wage is sometimes good but it also affects us.
One big problem that affects our economy as minimum wage increase, is the raise of unemployment levels. MinimumWage.ProCon.org states that " The Congressional Budget Office projected that if minimum wage increased from $7.25 to $10.10 there would be a result in a loss of 500,000 jobs." The government would not be able to pay for everybody to work and managers stated that they would lay off most of their employees. In 2014, Steven H. Hanke surveyed the European Union countries and found that when minimum wage increased the unemployment percentage increased also.
In my opinion minimum wage should not be increased. I believe minimum wage is mostly for little jobs that young adults can work till they finish high school and college. I believe a person over 30 should not be allow to work in a fast food restaurant because it takes away from young adults and adults should have a career and not live on a minimum wage check. Minimum wage will be a big issue to the economy if it increases because a lot of people will be out of jobs and a lot of things will increase like gas, bread, milk, etc.

Do you think minimum wage is a fair amount? or do you think it should be more or less? you said that you think minimum wage shouldn't be offered to older people but would if they didn't have a good life when they were younger and they don't have the money to go back to school to get a job that doesn't pay minimum wage?
